Influence of Artificial Intelligence on the Academic Writing of Secondary School Students: A Study at Lighthouse International School (LIS), Escazú, San José

Resumen

En los últimos años, la inteligencia artificial (IA) ha transformado la educación, especialmente en la escritura académica. Este estudio analiza cómo la IA influye en la escritura y el desempeño de los estudiantes de secundaria en las secciones 8-1 y 10-1 del Lighthouse International School durante el primer semestre de 2025. Se utilizó un enfoque mixto que combinó encuestas, análisis de ensayos y reflexiones de los estudiantes. Los resultados muestran que los estudiantes que usan herramientas como ChatGPT y Grammarly mejoran significativamente la calidad de sus textos, especialmente en gramática, coherencia y estructura. El estudio también destaca la importancia de usar la IA de manera responsable, apoyada por el sistema de semáforo del colegio, para fomentar la autonomía y el pensamiento crítico. Se identifican áreas que requieren mayor investigación, como los efectos a largo plazo en la creatividad y el desarrollo de habilidades de escritura independientes.
