Este estudio de caso analiza el desarrollo lingüístico, cognitivo y conductual de María (nombre ficticio), una niña con sordera profunda que enfrenta dificultades significativas en la comunicación y el aprendizaje. A pesar de la documentación de su discapacidad auditiva, la ausencia de una lengua estructurada y de un sistema de comunicación alternativo ha limitado su desarrollo socioeducativo. Se observan dificultades en la memoria, la secuenciación de grafemas y la organización de la escritura, además de comportamientos disruptivos en el aula. La investigación examina la posible coexistencia de otros trastornos del neurodesarrollo, incluyendo el Trastorno del Desarrollo del Lenguaje (TDL), el Trastorno del Espectro Autista (TEA) y dificultades específicas del aprendizaje. A través de una aproximación neurocientífica, se analizan las regiones cerebrales involucradas, la plasticidad neuronal y los neurotransmisores relacionados, destacando la importancia de una intervención temprana y un enfoque educativo adaptado.
